Age requirement: You must be at least 16 years old to create an account independently. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must register on your behalf and accept these terms on your behalf.

Parental accounts for children: If you are a parent, guardian, or educator registering to create stories for or with a child, you confirm that you have the authority to do so and accept full responsibility for the account and its use.

Accurate information: You agree to provide accurate, current information when registering and to keep your account details up to date.

Account security: You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@lulustories.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

One account per person: Accounts are for individual use. You may not share your account credentials with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits.

LuluStories is an AI-powered platform that allows users to create personalised illustrated storybooks for children. The service includes:

• AI-generated story text and illustrations based on your inputs
• Character creation, including photo-based character generation
• Digital reading, PDF download, and story sharing
• Audio narration features (on paid plans)
• Ordering of printed hardcover storybooks
  

We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features at any time. Where a change materially affects a paid plan, we will give reasonable advance notice.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control may cause temporary downtime.

LuluStories offers the following plans:

• Free Explorer: 5 Lulu Coins one-time. ~1 story. No credit card needed.
• Storybook Plus: 50 Lulu Coins/month. ~5 stories. Audio narration included.
• Storybook Pro: 200 Lulu Coins/month. ~20 stories. Voice recording, early access.

Lulu Coins are the in-platform credits used to generate stories and illustrations. 1 coin = 1 illustration; a typical story uses 5–10 coins; adding a character costs 2 coins. Coins are allocated per billing cycle and do not roll over to the next period.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annual) unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged using the payment method on file.

Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access and your remaining Coins until that date. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a paid billing period, except where required by law (see Section 6).

Coin purchases: Additional Lulu Coins can be purchased separately. Purchased Coins do not expire as long as your account remains active but are non-refundable once used.

You may order a premium printed hardcover book of any digital story you have created. By placing a print order, you confirm that:

• You have the right to reproduce all content in the story, including any uploaded photos

• The content complies with our acceptable use policy (Section 9)

• You have reviewed and approved the story using the preview tool before ordering

Production & shipping: Printed books are produced and dispatched within 5 working days. Standard delivery takes 7–10 days; express options are available at checkout. Delivery times are estimates and may vary due to carrier delays or customs for international orders.

Returns & reprints: Because each book is uniquely personalised and printed to order, we do not accept returns for change of mind. If your book arrives damaged, defective, or with a printing error, contact us within 14 days of receipt and we will arrange a free reprint or refund at our discretion.

Cancellations: Print orders can be cancelled within 1 hour of placement while the order is still in the queue. After production begins, cancellation is not possible.

All payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider. Prices are displayed in USD and are inclusive of applicable taxes where required by law.

EU consumer right of withdrawal: Under EU consumer law, you have the right to withdraw from a digital service contract within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason. However, by starting to use the service (generating stories or using Lulu Coins) within those 14 days, you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is waived for the portion of the service already delivered.

Subscription refunds: We do not offer refunds for partially used subscription periods. If you experience a technical fault on our side that prevented you from using the service, contact us and we will assess on a case-by-case basis.

Failed payments: If a renewal payment fails, we will notify you and attempt to retry. If payment is not resolved within 7 days, your account may be downgraded to the free tier. Your stories and content will be preserved.

Pricing changes: We may change subscription prices. We will give at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect, and it will apply from your next renewal date. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Prices are displayed in USD. If your payment method is in a different currency, conversion rates are applied by your payment provider at the time of transaction. LuluStories is not responsible for exchange rate fluctuations or additional fees charged by your bank or card provider.

Your inputs: You retain ownership of the prompts, character names, story ideas, and photos you provide to create stories.

Generated stories: The AI-generated stories and illustrations produced using your inputs are owned by you, subject to these terms and any applicable third-party AI platform terms. You may use them for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes, including printing and sharing with family.

Licence to LuluStories: By using the platform, you grant LuluStories a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your stories.

Community sharing: If you choose to share a story publicly via the community feature, you grant LuluStories permission to display that story on the platform as an example. You can remove it from the community at any time.

Permitted use: You may use your generated stories for personal, family, and classroom purposes — including printing copies for family members, sharing with friends, or using in an educational setting. You may not resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit AI-generated stories (for example, selling them as products or licensing them to third parties) without our prior written consent.

The LuluStories name, logo, platform design, underlying software, illustration styles, and all other proprietary elements of the service are owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these terms transfers any of our intellectual property rights to you.

You may not copy, reverse-engineer, scrape, or reproduce any part of the platform without our express written permission.

You agree not to use LuluStories to:

• Create content that is harmful, abusive, hateful, violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate — especially content involving minors
• Upload photos of individuals without their consent, or photos of children for whom you are not the parent or legal guardian
• Attempt to circumvent content safety filters or AI guardrails
• Impersonate another person or create misleading content about real individuals
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to generate content at scale or scrape the platform
• Attempt to resell access to the service or Lulu Coins to third parties

We reserve the right to review, remove, or refuse to generate content that we determine, at our sole discretion, violates these guidelines or our values as a child-safe platform.

LuluStories is designed to be a safe, joyful environment for children. All AI-generated content is filtered for age-appropriateness. However:

• Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their child's use of the platform
• You must not allow a child to use your account to access features or content not suitable for their age
• If you upload a photo of a child, you confirm you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or have explicit parental consent to do so
• You are responsible for ensuring that any story you share publicly or print does not contain content inappropriate for children

If you encounter any content on our platform that appears unsafe or inappropriate for children, please report it immediately to info@lulustories.com.

By using LuluStories, you acknowledge that:

• Story text and illustrations are generated by AI based on your inputs and may not always match your expectations exactly
• AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, inconsistencies, or unintended outputs despite our best efforts
• We do not guarantee that generated content is factually accurate, and it should not be relied upon as educational fact without your own review
• Illustration styles (Pixar, Ghibli, etc.) are artistic inspirations, not official licensed products from those studios
• We are not responsible for how third parties interpret or use stories you choose to share

To provide AI-generated stories and illustrations, LuluStories uses third-party AI providers. Your inputs — including prompts and uploaded photos used for character creation — may be processed by these providers solely for the purpose of generating your content. These providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and are not permitted to use it for their own model training. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by Swedish and EU law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or costs of obtaining substitute services.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of LuluStories shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Consumer rights: Nothing in this section limits or excludes any rights you have as a consumer under applicable EU or Swedish consumer protection law, including your right to a service that conforms to what was agreed.

Force majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance of our service caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to third-party AI provider outages, internet infrastructure failures, natural disasters, or government actions. We will make reasonable efforts to restore the service as quickly as possible and will communicate with affected users where we are able to do so.

By you: You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. On deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Paid subscriptions continue until the end of the billing period; no refund is issued for the remaining time.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these terms, engage in behaviour that endangers children, or use the platform fraudulently. In non-urgent cases, we will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach.

Effect of termination: On termination, your access to the platform ceases. Stories stored in your account will be deleted within 30 days. You are responsible for downloading any stories or PDFs you wish to keep before deleting your account.

Inactive accounts: Free accounts that have not been accessed for 24 consecutive months may be deleted after 30 days' notice sent to the registered email address. Any stored stories and content will be permanently deleted at that time. Paid accounts are not affected by this policy while a subscription remains active.

If you believe your account has been suspended or terminated in error, please contact us at info@lulustories.com and we will review your case.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. For consumer users within the EU, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence.

Dispute resolution: We hope to resolve any concerns informally. Please contact us first at info@lulustories.com. If we cannot reach a resolution, EU consumers may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Swedish consumers may also contact the Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN) — the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes — at arn.se.

Any legal proceedings shall be brought in the courts of Sweden, unless mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. For material changes — such as changes to pricing, your rights, or our liability — we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. For minor changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If you disagree with a material change, you may cancel your subscription before it takes effect. Continued use of LuluStories after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

LuluStories operates an affiliate programme that allows third parties to earn a commission by referring new users to the platform. Affiliates are required to clearly disclose their relationship with LuluStories in accordance with applicable advertising standards. LuluStories is not responsible for the content or claims made by affiliates beyond what is expressly authorised. For details, see our Affiliate Disclosure.
